Book Ahead of Time

The best advice we have for making your camping trip the best I can be is to make sure you book ahead of time. Nothing will spoil your trip more than arriving at a campground and realizing you don’t have a space to park your RV. Be sure to call the campground ahead of time. Ask about amenities and get your site reserved so that you don’t run into this problem.

Avoid Big Cities

Next, you want to plan your route to your travel destination and be sure to avoid big cities and heavy traffic areas. Both of these can severely impact your experience by slowing the travel time to the campground or even putting you at higher risk for an accident because of crowded roadways.

3/3/3 Rule

Following the 3/3/3 rule is an excellent way to make traveling long distances easy and comfortable for everyone. This rule just means try to limit your travel times to three-hour increments, arrive at the campsite before 3 PM to give you plenty of sunlight to set up, and travel no more than 300 miles at a time to keep yourself from getting overly fatigued.
